Carey speaks and leads workshops and retreats on creative life and habits, the stories of the saints and the psalms, and her own books. She has led school assemblies and book clubs, and teaches and leads retreats both online and in person. She has worked with students from Princeton, Yale, Julliard, and Pratt, as well as the Festival of Faith and Writing, Emory’s Candler School of Theology, and Borromeo Seminary.

The Discipline of Rest
We struggle constantly to work harder and get more done, and although we might stall, freeze, or run out of fuel, we almost never rest.
